Zaya’s mom is a certified pediatric sleep consultant here in Escanaba Michigan, which I think is a pretty cool resource to have! She hoped to use some of the images from her session to help promote her business, so I planned on several simple, safe-sleeping setups. Ironically, Zaya was awake for a good portion of her session!

Awake photos are just about always parents’ favorites though, and I always try to grab some if baby is content and awake. I always get detail images too, but usually when baby is sleeping. Zaya was awake for hers and I think it’s my new favorite way to capture these little details! Seeing her eyes explore and take in the world around her is just beautiful.
