I am so completely *obsessed* with this session, and not just because it involves my very best friend in the world.  I’ve photographed Jamie’s children many times over the years – traveling downstate to capture newborn photos, her traveling to the upper peninsula for fall colors – and I’d occasionally sneak Jamie into some of the photos, but never her entire family.  We were both so excited to finally do so, and spent so much time planning this session, down to every detail of the outfits.  And it panned out *so* damn well.  I love it.  I love all of it.

Jamie’s dress is from Vici Collection and looked so stunning on her. I know she was skeptical, but I hope so much that she ends up seeing what I see.  That she’s freaking gorgeous.  She was kind enough too, to donate her dress to me after the session – so you guys, this is in my client closet now.  Yours for the wearing.

One thing I have to say about that is – wear the dress!  Wear a gorgeous, flowing, statement dress.  I’m not a dress person, neither is Jamie.  We both sucked it up and wore beautiful, flowing dresses for our most recent sessions, and I have to say it makes *such* a difference.  The movement, the texture – it all adds SO much to your session!  I can’t stress it enough – even if you hate being the center of attention, even if you’re not 100% confident in your body – WEAR THE DRESS AND YOU WILL FEEL FABULOUS!

Her daughter Joanna’s dress is also gorgeous – Jamie is an amazing decorator, and always has that pop of red throughout her home.  We took all of that into account when styling her session, and these images are going to look amazing on her walls.

One last part of the session I can’t get enough of  – the poses of Jamie and John.  I mean COME ON!!!  The light, the setting (this was outside Newberry, and I would gladly travel there anytime for the chance to use this spot again!) all of it was spot on, and I *love* seeing the chemistry between them.  It just makes me so damn happy.
