I think I say this every time, but I could *not* believe that Lyla could already be a year old!  I work with her mom so I get frequent updates, but it still seemed like her first year went by all too fast.

Lyla was just learning to walk, so her mom was really hoping to get a few photos of her taking steps.  Even on the wooded paths we were on, Lyla did great and made her mom proud.

I always aim for a few posed photos, and also to capture the in-between moments.  We got some beautiful moments of Lyla snuggling on both her mom and her dad, and these are memories they will cherish in the years to come, when she no longer fits in their arms.

Lyla’s dress was a pretty light teal color that was set off beautifully by the wooded setting.  This location is one of my favorites – full of ferns and birch trees, with gorgeous light.  They’ve recently turned it into a disc golf course, so there is a little more traffic than there used to be and I have to edit out giant blue baskets here and there, but it’s worth it!
