Sharing not for likes, or to promote sessions, or Sharing not for likes, or to promote sessions, or for any reason other than this - a beautiful session with a wonderful family that made my heart happy. We had a perfect mix of posed images and fun moments - movement, laughter, twirling dresses and beautiful light. Allowing emotion in your photos allows you to *return* to those emotions, year after year. I’ve heard parents say “We’re not here to have fun, we’re here to have our pictures taken!” and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Not with me, anyway. I want the fun, the chaos, the beauty of your life as it really is. I’ll admit it’s a little hard to know what to share right now. I want to appreciate the beautiful moments we’ve captured and share them with you, but it’s also hard to remember the joy of doing so, the hope I felt in my business, knowing now that it wouldn’t last. For now I’m just catching up on past sessions and looking forward to some cozy, introspective downtime this winter. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m grateful for the time I had with families like this one, and for where I’m at right now with a steady paycheck and a job I enjoy more than I ever did before. I’m happy, and I’m trusting the process. I wish a warm, cozy, peaceful winter for all of you, with love.

It's the first time in many years that I haven't hosted them, so I want to be sure my clients are still able to find someone they love to work with, and have magical memories captured! As for me, I don't even know what I'm doing for my own kids' pictures yet, but I've taken them every year and can't stop that tradition now, right? I'm anxious to get working on the photos from our trip to Italy from September, but so far I've only managed this one - it's my absolute favorite and I can't wait to hang it up! I absolutely do have images of all eyes open, faci I absolutely do have images of all eyes open, facing the camera, smiling brightly. But I've always craved moments like these more. When sisters are seeing who can pick the biggest bouquet, throw their arms around each other in a hug, and dissolve into giggles. When mom glances at her partner and says, without a word, how much she adores him and the family they've created. Pictures are more than just what you look like - they tell the story of what your life feels like, right now in this moment. #familyphotos #familyphotographer
Hello all, I had to come on and share this materni Hello all, I had to come on and share this maternity session that we captured a few weeks ago - we couldn't have asked for a better evening, especially being that it rained before and immediately after. I hope you got to enjoy summer's last hurrah this weekend. My daughter and I had a wonderful girls' day Saturday - we made iced pumpkin chais, and took a road trip to Miners Beach. We had the windows down and listened to "The Life of a Showgirl" 4 and a half times ("Father Figure" is my favorite and "Actually Romantic" is hers). We had a picnic on the beach, got to watch a wedding, and the whole day was such a perfect vibe - one of those core memory days for sure. I'm so ready to wear a sweater and turn off the air conditioning, but I will absolutely not complain one bit about one last dance with summer ☀️
