Escanaba Studio Maternity session

I thought I’d share one of my most recent favorite indoor maternity sessions today! I love the variety that maternity sessions can offer – there are so many options! We can go indoors at my Escanaba Michigan studio, and work through a variety of outfits. Whether you want to wear one of the gowns from my client closet, bring your own dresses, or go more casual in your comfy clothes, we make sure we tailor the session to your style. If we go outdoors, we usually do less outfit changes but more variety with the landscape. We can pick settings that work for your style – urban, woodsy, beachy – and hopefully will get some of that yummy golden evening light! Or, we can do like we did for this session – we started out indoors, and then ran outside my studio for just a quick couple of shots out in the snow. Those few moments were enough to get a nice change of scenery, and the brick walls of my studio make a gorgeous backdrop, inside and out!

Chelsea wore a few different dresses for her maternity session. During her consult she’d tried a couple on so she would know what she liked, and she also brought along this gorgeous blue dress that she bought on Amazon. I was really impressed with the quality of it and the way that it photographed! In fact I loved it so much that I asked her to bring it back for their newborn session – I saw a picture on Facebook of her cuddling her puppy and brand new baby on the couch, and wanted to help show the beauty in a moment like that, so we recreated it in the studio. I thought Chelsea looked like she stepped right into a painting for these, and that’s what I absolutely love about them. Your life *is* beautiful, as beautiful as a painting, and is worthy of being made into art. All of those small moments are what makes the big beautiful picture of life, and I live for capturing those little snippets. Enjoy looking through a tiny piece of this beautiful family’s journey!
