I met Leah’s mom when her daughter and mine shared a dance class.  She was warm and friendly and her daughters were absolutely sweet.  I was so excited to hear she was expecting a third little girl, and of course honored when she asked if I could take the newborn photos.

Dad brought the older two girls just for their portion at the beginning of the session.  They were sweet as ever, tip-toeing around the studio while holding hands.  It didn’t take them long to warm up, but they didn’t lose their sweetness to each other or to their baby sister either.  We snuck in a few individual portraits of the girls too so that mom could update her photo wall at home.

Leah did great for her portion of the session too.  She didn’t like laying on her belly, but didn’t mind being on her side so we got some very cute beanbag poses.  I’m loving my new beanbag from The Original Photoblocks Props, and how it allows me to do backlit posing so easily.  The wrapped white-on-white poses were some of my favorite from this session.  Overall, I was feeling the lighter colors this time, and did most of my prop poses on the light wood barnwood, rather than the dark.  I think all this cold gloomy weather has me aching for spring!
