Oh, Elsie.  It was just about a year ago that I met Elsie, her mom, and her grandma, for a 3 month milestone session.  Elsie was just the sweetest, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing her every 3 months throughout her first year since then.  We met in December for her one year session, but she’d had a bout of illness, and just wasn’t feeling her best.  We got a few smiles, but she wanted absolutely nothing to do with her cake (which, by the way, was adorable – it came from For the Love of Cupcakes on Ludington, in Escanaba, and she always does an amazing job!)  So, Elsie’s mom stuck the cake in the freezer, and we planned on meeting up again for another try.  The months kept going by, and poor Elsie had one illness after another, so before we knew it it was MARCH!  In a few ways this turned out to be a good thing – Elsie’s mom had ordered a tutu that took exceptionally long to come in, so we were able to use it for the March session.  Elsie was also *much* happier for her session this time around!  She was back to being my little buddy – I got to carry her around on my hip (something which my own kids are much to big for now, and which I miss) and she was full of smiles.  She still wasn’t a huge fan of the cake, but we got some super cute shots from it anyway.  All in all, waiting definitely paid off!
