Royce was one of the sweetest babies – I try to keep my newborn galleries to about 60-80 photos so that it’s not too overwhelming of a choice for parents, but we made it through so many setups that I ended up with 120 images in Royce’s newborn gallery!  I just can’t hand back a sleeping baby, especially when they are as cute as this little guy.  His parents opted to not have his images shared on social media, which is *always* something I ask prior to posting, and I always respect parents’ wishes with this.  They were agreeable for him to be on my blog though and I’m very happy to be able to share some of his gorgeous gallery with you!

Mom and dad are both tattooed, which is a look I personally love (live vicariously through others and all that).  They did some parent images with cozy sweaters, which gives great texture for family shots.  Then they peeled off a couple layers for that beautiful skin-to-skin look.

One of mom’s favorite colors was burnt orange, and I did a little happy dance when I found that out.  Warm neutrals are my jam, and burnt orange is my happy color.  I can’t get enough of it, in any aspect of my life.  (For real.  Sweaters, accessories, walls in my home – I used to try breaking away from it but now I just give in).

This was also my first session using my new beanbag from The Original Photoblocks Props – 10 points if you can guess what color it is!  I knew I wanted one of Gabriela’s Mother Beans as soon as she came out with them, and when she announced the Cinnamon Mother Bean, I knew why I’d held out.  It looks *so* perfect in my studio, and is the perfect surface for working with these little babies.  It also allowed me to try some new angles and backlighting, which I’ve been dying to do!
